We live in Greater São Paulo – Brazil
Back in 2018 we were excited for the birth of our first grandchild, Gabriel, who is now 7 years old. Since his birth his loveliness is outstanding; blond, a pretty face and he is becoming a handsome young man.
After some months his parents noticed he was behind with his natural developments. By his first birthday, he was diagnosed with GRIN2B disorder, a very rare event that we had never heard about. Immediately it was a shock. Our family searched for any information that could help understand the situation. We have found CUREGRIN among other non profit organizations. This was very important because we needed answers, nevertheless we still have plenty questions.
Gabriel is nonverbal and has a motor impairment. He is an extremely sensitive kid and a treasure for anyone who has had the opportunity to share any moments with him. His favorite activity is to observe cars and motorcycles.
Now he has two younger siblings (a sister and a brother) all together with
their parents constitute a marvelous family. We as grandparents, have the commitment to give Gabriel as much love as he deserves.
