Our Volunteers

Brianna Kupras, Digital Engagement Coordinator, GRIN2A Mom, USA

Brianna is a dedicated parent volunteer with CureGRIN. She uses her passion for social media marketing to spread awareness through CureGRIN’s LinkedIn page and on her own personal social media pages. Brianna balances her busy life with four children, including her youngest daughter Cece who has a mutation of the GRIN2A gene, while tirelessly fundraising for CureGRIN to help advance medical research for GRI disorders.

Kat Reiher, Lead Ambassador, GRIA2 Mom, USA

Kat and her husband Matt knew that he was on the autism spectrum, but in 2022 when their one year old daughter, Abby, was diagnosed with GRIA2 that had been inherited from Matt, it was both surprising yet provided some answers! One big question Kat and Matt would love to see answered is why her husband’s symptoms are mild and mostly social, while their daughter has global, more severe symptoms and delays.

Kat has almost two decades experience in the IT industry. However, she also loves languages (she speaks English, Russian, and Spanish) and science, and minored in Biology in college. It’s interesting how one’s talents can be used as one never expected or planned. Kat has found new use for her biology background in helping her communicate with researchers and helping her read journal articles, and new use of her language skills when communicating with families.

Helping other families navigate this scary world brings Kat comfort and happiness, and has given Kat a newfound sense of purpose.
