We’re excited to announce that CureGRIN is hiring a Communications Coordinator to help us expand awareness for GRI Disorder!
Position Summary:
The Communications Coordinator provides support in the day- to-day management of projects and will assist with special projects as needed. This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in supporting those impacted by our rare disease – GRI Disorder.
This is a one-year remote position (can accommodate some flexibility in working hours) with possible opportunity to extend.

Responsibilities:
- Create or coordinate content, develop and execute reports, and track results in support of CureGRIN’s marketing, fundraising and research strategies
- Assist with social media as directed by CureGRIN’s social media strategy, maintaining excellent relationships with our community across platforms, and creating social media tool kits for major events and campaigns
- Draft e-communications including newsletter, campaigns and event promotion, contributing to and enhancing CureGRIN’s storytelling
- Act as community manager for GRI Connect, a private community for GRI families, researchers and clinicians
- Attend and take notes at meetings
- Arrange meetings and assist in managing calendars for CEO and President
- Support fundraising campaigns
- Monitor general inbox
- Other duties, as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- 1-2 years of administrative or communications experience is required
A strong interest in CureGRIN’s mission and a desire to be part of improving the lives of those living with GRI Disorders - Experience with social media, database systems, Word Press, video editing, and pitching to media are a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills and strong customer-service focus
- Effective analytical, problem-solving/brainstorming skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and simultaneous projects
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office
Location: Flexible
Travel:
CureGRIN Travel is currently on hold due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols. In the future, some travel may be required (Approximately 10 days / year). Approved travel costs will be covered.
Term:
This is a one-year contract that may be renewed. Contractor will not be an employee of CureGRIN. We are looking to hire an independent contractor who will be responsible for remitting his or her own taxes, etc.
Hours: 20 – 30 hours / week (negotiable)
Remuneration: $15-$18US per hour
Benefits: This is an independent contractor position. Benefits are not provided by CureGRIN.

About GRI Disorders:
